“Deep Desires”
(2020)
"Deep Desires" is inspired by the story of Oesed's Mirror from the novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Harry discovers a mirror in which he sees himself reflected alongside his parents, whom he never got to meet. After visiting the mirror several times, Dumbledore explains that this mirror shows the deepest desire of the heart but that the mirror will not give him knowledge or truth and that there are people who have been consumed, fascinated by what they have seen or have gone crazy not knowing if what it shows is real or possible... Dumbledore concludes: "It is not good to let oneself be trapped by dreams and forget to live; remember that". This story created in me a reflection with which I worked on the discourse of this series.
In this series composed of two photographs, "Isolated" and "Deep Desires", I represent the moments in my life when I have been so trapped by a dream that I have ended up devaluing everything around me.
