“Sadness”

“My breathing accelerates, catastrophic thoughts come to my mind, my eyes fill with tears and I can't stop crying. Fear, anxiety, my mind racing and I can't stop it. Emotions run high. Crying. Relief... Calm.”
With this self-portrait I represent those moments when sadness comes over me and I can't control the thoughts in my head. Normally they are moments of crying myself out and then I feel calm afterwards. Since the pandemic situation I have noticed that these ups and downs have become more pronounced. Beyond the virus, I think it is important to give visibility to the mental health problems that society is going through.
